I'm a native Ohioan who enjoys watching and playing sports. I generally need to use the success of my collegiate team (Ohio State) to balance the historical lack of it from my professional ones (Browns, Indians, Cavaliers, and Blue Jackets). 

Some of my favorite activities include softball, backpacking, scuba diving, and most lawn games (especially croquet). I'm currently conducting a project where I'm attempting to visit the highest point in every state in the country. I've currently reached the summit of 26 states plus DC. When I can't get outdoors, I enjoy playing tabletop games (like Ticket to Ride, Terra Mystica, and Scrabble) and cards. I love learning new games and always keep an eye out for them.

I'm a really big science fiction and fantasy enthusiast. J.R.R. Tolkien is my favorite author, I reread The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings every year, and I have had two articles published in the Tolkien Society journal. Additionally, King Kong (1933) and For Your Eyes Only (James Bond) are my two favorite movies. I also really enjoy graphic novels; here is a link to my personal database of ratings for all the graphic novels I have ever read.
